A Hugh night at United Fresh Start Foundation gala dinner

20SAN DIEGO — The United Fresh Produce Association bestowed one of its top honors on a highly-respected man who dedicated his entire professional career to the fresh fruit and vegetable industry, here, Jan. 16 at its United Fresh Start Foundation reception, gala dinner and auction.

Hugh Topper, who recently retired from San Antonio-based retailer H-E-B, where he rose to the position of group vice president of fresh foods, was presented with the association’s Lifetime Achievement Award, showered with accolades from associates, colleagues and friends in the industry. He joins a distinguished list of recipients that includes Bruce McEvoy, Rick and Tonya Antle, Mike Cavallero, Joe Procacci, Reggie Griffin, Frieda Caplan and Bob Grimm.
