The industry remembers an icon and a friend

We’ve walked together. We’ve talked together. We’ve worked together. On Sept. 7, our floral industry lost a beloved member of the pack.

Danny Temkin made enduring contributions to the success of our collective businesses   and left indelible marks on each of our hearts.

thumbnail Image-4Danny TemkinBorn in Montevideo, Uruguay on Dec. 13, 1951, Danny moved to Israel at the age of twelve. After spending time in Navy High School, the Navy and Merchant Marines, he moved to Los Angeles with $4,000 in his pocket and his signature energy and ambition.

Over the next 42 years, Danny built, nurtured and grew his business, welcoming each of us into the “Temkin family.”

He was the epitome of a self-starter — not only thinking of new things but doing new things.

Along with his success, Danny never lost track of “the real” — real people, real connections and real relationships. The twinkle in his eye... that mischievous smile… and the magic one felt in his presence will linger on in all of us like a familiar melody.

Danny is survived by his wife, Sandra Sanchez Temkin, his children Noam, Karine, Krystal and Kito, Sandra’s sons Juan Pablo and Mauricio, four grandchildren and two fur-babies: Apollo and Gipsy.

Services were held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT, on Thursday, Sept.12, with interment at the B’nai Israel Cemetery, 1021 East 4th Ave., Salt Lake City, UT.

There will never be enough days to count the innovation and legacy that Danny Temkin brought to our industry. He left it for us, and he left it within us.
