Steeped in over a century of apple growing, Garners, PA-based Rice Fruit Co. is highlighting a few exciting items in its mix of apples as it moves into spring this year.
Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Brenda Briggs, said the company is promoting its super-sweet KIKU brand apples.
“And we are introducing EverCrisp apples,” she said. “This new and exciting apple is of Honeycrisp and Fuji parentage. Both of these apple varieties offer a great eating experience with delicious flavor and a fresh crunch.”
In mid-February, Rice Fruit Co. was pleased to announce its new partnership with Ocean Crisp Apple Co. in Kentville, Nova Scotia, to offer premium Honeycrisp apples grown on the coast of the Canadian Province. Briggs said this program is on schedule and doing well.
“Our partnership with Ocean Crisp allows us to offer this premium quality Honeycrisp apples from August through April,” she pointed out.
Rice Fruit Co.’s packing facility is SQF and USDA certified.
Briggs said the energy of the locally grown movement is a core component to Rice Fruit Co.’s marketing efforts.
“Retailers in the East know they can answer their shoppers’ desire to source locally and regionally by partnering with us for excellent quality, volumes and consistently high levels of service,” she said.
She added that Rice Fruit Co. is always happy to give a shout-out to the team at D’Arrrigo Bros. of New York, which is located at the Hunts Point Terminal Market.
“We are a proud partner of D’Arrigo Bros. of New York, and our partnership dates back decades,” said Briggs. “We look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
As Rice Fruit Co. continues to grow, it has added to its team of experts. Briggs announced that a new addition to its sales and marketing team is Ashley Light.
“Ashley comes to Rice Fruit Co. with a background in sales and marketing of farm equipment,” said Briggs.
“She has experience in the design and management of spaces for trade shows, managing content development for websites and social media and in B2B marketing,” Briggs continued.
“In addition to her creative talents, Ashley has experience in, and enjoys, data organization and logistics coordination. Her passion for the agriculture industry is strong. We are proud to add Ashley to our team.”
