Temps high for Chilean grapes, low for Mexican limes

The best chance for rain in the strawberry-growing regions of California will be this Sunday and Monday. As of today, the chance or rain ranges from 50 percent up to 80 percent for Sunday and Monday. Rain totals over the two days will range from 0.5 inches to an inch.weat

Tuesday should be dry across the state and then the second storm will come in on Wednesday and last through Thursday. This storm has only a 40 percent chance of bringing rain and totals will only be about 0.75 inches over the two days.

By the time buyers are ready to come back in and make their post-Christmas purchases the rain will be over and hopefully the fields dry.

The Coachella Valley is forecast to have a slight chance of rain on Monday and then again on Thursday and Friday.

MEXICAN LIMES RECEIVING RAIN AND COOLER TEMPS
Martinez de la Torre, Veracruz, which saw rain on Tuesday and cooler temps all week will see more of the same through the weekend. Tomorrow there is a high chance of up to an inch of rain. Max temps will remain in the 60s and min temps in the mid-50s through Sunday.

Look for volume to be light through at least the middle of next week when temps finally return to normal with highs in the mid-80s.

CHILEAN GRAPE REGIONS TO SEE EXCESSIVE HEAT OVER WEEKEND
The Chilean grape-growing regions of Rancagua, San Felipe and Santiago will all see temps jump this weekend by over 10 degrees. Max temps will be in the mid-90s Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Temps will drop slightly come Tuesday with max temps remaining in the mid-80s all next week.

It shouldn’t be long before we see grapes coming in from Chile. These warmer temps may help with production.
