ADS Management and MR Farms announce joint venture

ADS Management, a fourth-generation family-owned-and-operated company with over 70 years of experience in the agriculture industry, and MR Farms, a family-owned company with over 30 years growing, packing and shipping fresh produce for the Canadian, U.S. and Mexican markets, are entering into a joint venture, effective Jan. 1, 2018.

Under the joint venture, MR Farms will be joining the ADS family of produce companies, including Hapco Farms, Freshouse and Ampco Distribution Services. It will continue to operate as MR Farms and will maintain its facilities in Quebec.

This joint venture enables both companies to expand their product and service offerings to their customers. ADS will grow its farm acreage with this deal as well as strengthen its presence in Canada and Mexico. This venture also increases buying power for MR Farms and opens up new product lines and customers for both companies.

"Both companies share the same business philosophy, getting the best product at the best price. With us working together, our customers will only benefit," said Andy Pollak, president and chief executive officer of ADS Management.

This joint venture also adds acreage in all Canadian vegetables, with the ability to provide overnight service to the Northeast as well as service to the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.

"We have been working together for a long time and we are excited to officially partner on expanding the business and bringing our customers additional products and services," said Dominic Riendeau of MR Farms.
