ISELIN, NJ — Allegiance Retail Services LLC announced that Victor Savanello has rejoined the company as director of produce and floral. He had left Allegiance in mid-June to join JOH Sales & Marketing as account executive in commodity sales.

In 2008, he joined Foodtown Inc. as category manager of SavanelloVictor Savanelloproduce and floral. During his time at Foodtown, he had a significant impact on department operations, which allowed its members to better compete in all areas of produce and floral. Mr. Savanello will report to Dean Holmquist, Allegiance's vice president of perishables.

"Vic's previous record of success, coupled with his extensive background in produce and floral, will be an invaluable asset to Allegiance," Mr. Holmquist said in a Jan. 14 statement.

Mr. Savanello also currently serves as second vice president of the Eastern Produce Council.

"I really believe this is where I belong,” Mr. Savanello told The Produce News Jan. 18. “I’ve been preparing myself for this position all my career, and I couldn’t be happier with the way things worked out.”
