Sky Johnson is already maintaining a busy schedule with Borton & Sons Inc. as its newest sales account manager. President of Sales & Marketing Denny Annen said Mr. Johnson came on board Nov. 12.

"He did join us at the PMA convention this year in October to get some exposure and has already proved to be a valuable asset to our sales team," Mr. Annen told The Produce News on Nov. 28.

Borton & Sons is headquartered in Yakima, WA, JohnsonJoinsBortonSky Johnsonand is a grower-packer-shipper of premium apples, pears and cherries. The company has more than 100 years of expertise in the tree fruit business and has long been recognized as an industry leader.

Mr. Johnson joined the staff in the Yakima office and is responsible for maintaining and growing sales with current and new customers, coordinating, implementing and executing programs identified by Borton & Sons as well as formulating alternative wholesaler- and retailer-specific programs designed for regional-specific requirements.

"He will work with key management on expansion activities through formulating sales growth plans," Mr. Annen commented. "His responsibilities will include travel as identified with our existing customers and new targeted customers."

Mr. Annen was asked what qualities Mr. Johnson brought to the table, making him an attractive candidate for the position. "Sky has a strong produce wholesale background with a family-operated business that will serve well in his sales role," Mr. Annen replied. "Sky is extremely energetic and aggressive. His outgoing professional attitude and personality make for a solid combination and align well with the company's philosophy. Those attributes and his being self-motivated and willing to take initiative will make for a great opportunity for Sky and the company."
