Brett Libke, The Oppenheimer Group’s East Coast senior sales representative, has been promoted to the role of East Coast director of sales.

“Brett has proven to be a very strategic thinker, is well regarded throughout the industry and possesses invaluable leadership qualities,” David Smith, the company’s senior vice president, North American sales and categories, said in a press release. “His experience and knowledge of the business will complement the sales efforts made by many of Oppenheimer’s veteran salespeople on the East Coast.”

Brett-LibkeBrett LibkeMr. Libke will be responsible for providing effective leadership and support for the eastern U.S. sales team, which includes Oppenheimer’s Newark, DE, Tampa, FL, and Chicago sales offices. He will focus on expanding distribution and supporting category directors in key areas while providing quality service to retail customers, growers and suppliers.

“We will be implementing a regional strategy that encourages Oppenheimer’s three eastern offices to operate in a more unified way,” Mr. Libke said in the release. “By doing so, we can optimize our service by aligning our salespeople with the accounts they are best at serving regardless of location.”

Mr. Libke joined the Oppenheimer team as a sales representative in the company’s Newark office in 2011 following 15 years with C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc., located in Eden Prairie, MN. His previous experience spans various sales and management roles within the produce, supply chain and logistics industries.

“This new role will provide the unique opportunity to work more closely with our growers and develop a better understanding of their needs and how the industry operates from their perspective,” Mr. Libke said.
