Stop & Shop and Ahold USA support Boston recovery, pledge $500,000 to The One Fund Boston

The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. LLC and its parent company Ahold USA, announced donations totaling $500,000 from the companies and their charitable foundation, Our Family Foundation, to The One Fund Boston (onefundboston.org). Formed by Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, The One Fund Boston was created to aid victims of the tragic events that occurred during the Boston Marathon.

"Words cannot express the tragedy that took place at the Boston Marathon," Joe Kelley, president of Stop & Shop New England division, said in a press release. "We mourn with all of those who were affected. Our thoughts and prayers are with the city of Boston and our local and global communities as the details of this tragic event continue to unfold. Stop & Shop is here for our associates, our communities, and to support the local, state and federal responders working around the clock. We're proud to see the spirit of people coming together in support of the victims and for the great city of Boston. We're glad to support The One Fund Boston to help families and the city recover."
