United Apple Sales opens West Coast division, hires industry veteran Frank Davis

United Apple Sales announced the opening of a new West Coast division based in Yakima, WA, and the hiring of Frank Davis as vice president of national business development.frankFrank Davis

With more than 100 years as a grower-packer-shipper in upstate New York, United Apple has expanded its operations in Washington to help cover its growing national account customer base. Ward Dobbins, owner and chief executive officer, said its Washington presence began in 2016 with the hiring of Josh Tunstall as vice president of Northwest sales.

Dobbins said the success of its Washington program working with packing partners in key growing regions has become an integral part of its ability to handle large, national retail accounts with year-round supply assurance. The creation of the West Coast division further enhances United Apple’s ability to keep pace with program needs and expand into other commodities including pears, cherries and stone fruit.

“We have a successful business model that will be greatly strengthened with the addition of Frank Davis as vice president of national business development. Frank has over 20 years of vast experience covering everything from large national retailers to grower to senior sales management with some of Washington’s largest packers. We are looking forward to his passion for this industry and working with Josh to expand our domestic and import opportunities,” said Dobbins.

Both Davis and Tunstall will office in Yakima and service regional, national accounts and export customer programs.
