Immokalee, FL-based Oakes Farms has experienced a year of profound growth and expansion. In its need for qualified staff to help keep the momentum going, the company has hired Conor Leach as its new Midwest regional sales specialist and account manager. He joined the company March 15.
Leach previously worked as account manager for Tom Lange Missouri in St. Louis. He joined the company as an intern when he was a sophomore at the University of Missouri studying business administration, supply chain and logistics. Within six months he accepted a full-time position with Tom Lange working in sales and logistics. He was with the company for two years.
“I have the highest regard for the company,” said Leach. “I gained a great deal of experience and knowledge while I was there. It is a bittersweet departure, but as I look to the future and my career I made the decision I felt was right. Oakes Farms is a rapidly expanding company, and I hope to transition my knowledge in transportation, distribution and sales there and to share in being a part of its future growth.”
Leach is relocating from St. Louis to Immokalee with his girlfriend and dog.
His inspiration to enter the produce industry as a career came from a mutual friend who works in produce. “He told me that I would be a good fit for this industry, and he was right,” said Leach. “I look forward to my future in produce with Oakes Farms.”
