The Best Flower Trade Show comes to its XV version

The best opportunity to do business face to face in the flower industry is coming soon.

Since 1991, Proflora has established itself as the best Flower Trade Show. With perseverance and dedication, the success achieved in these 30 years has made Proflora the main instrument to promote Colombian flowers. This trade show takes place every two years. It will be held in Bogotá, Colombia from October 2-4, with more than 16 exhibiting countries who will also come to celebrate the XV version of this flower trade show.

proflora The main exhibitors will be international flower producers, suppliers of inputs, service companies, breeders — who are responsible for developing the new varieties of flowers on the market — all floriculture key members.

Three months before opening its doors, Proflora is almost a sold-out exhibition. This means that more than 300 companies related to the flower business are waiting to show their products at The Best Flower Trade Show.

76 percent of the exhibition area will be only flower growers and breeders.

24 percent the visitors will have the opportunity to find inputs, services and new trends in the chain.

Visitors from around the world will have the opportunity to find:

The largest diversity and quality of flowers from different parts of the world.

Flower producing companies, which ensure sustainability in economic, social and environmental terms.

The whole industry of the flower chain under one roof.

Multiple spaces for the creation of networks with the key members of the worldwide flower industry.

Flower farm tours to see, firsthand, where and how Colombian flowers are grown.

Proflora 2019 welcomes Sea Freight companies

Sea shipping is something we’re hearing more and more about in recent years. Being able to reach all the flower industry’s global commercial hubs at very competitive prices requires efficient and reliable transportation.

For the first time, Proflora will provide booths exclusively for companies related to the sea freight chain:

Port of Santa Marta

Port of Cartagena

Port of Barranquilla

Seaboard marine

Panalpina — Cargomaster cargo agency

The data of Colombian fresh cut flowers exports support this growing shift toward cut flower transport by sea:

Over the past five years, exports by sea freight increased in tons and TEUS (twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) by 177 percent and 149 percent, respectively.

In 2018, more than 19.6 thousand tons and more than 3.7 thousand TEUS were exported by sea freight.

From January to April 2019, Colombia exported by sea freight 9.1 thousand tons and 1.8 thousand TEUS. The main markets were: United States with a 53 percent share, United Kingdom with 27 percent, Chile with 14 percent and Australia with 2 percent.

Proflora is looking forward to diving into the opportunities sea freight offers to perishables goods such as flowers.

Proflora 2019 Welcomes U.S. Trade Associations

Proflora believes that having allies in the flower industry leads to the development of the overall industry, itself. Without doubt, cooperation with other organizations ensures mutual accomplishment, improves knowledge base and opens new opportunities to promote flower consumption in different markets.

Proflora is very happy and honored to inform the industry that, this year for the first time, U.S. Floral Trade Associations will be exhibiting at Proflora 2019:

CalFlowers: California Association of Flower Growers & Shippers

PMA: Produce Marketing Association

SAF: Society of American Florists

WF&FSA: Wholesale Florist & Florist Supplier Association

AFE: American Floral Endowment

AFIF: Association of Floral Importers of Florida

Proflora is more than just a flower trade show, it is an array of inspiring experiences and the best scenario for business opportunities.
