PMA launches floral Facebook group to enhance member engagement

Produce Marketing Association launched a new, private Facebook group for floral members only during the association’s 69th annual Fresh Summit Convention & Expo held in Orlando, FL, Oct. 18-20.

DeborahColeman Edited-0276-2Debora ColemanThe Focus on Floral: Industry Professionals Group is a place for individuals from across the supply chain to foster connections and collaborations, exchange information, and nurture discussion based around the professional mass-market floral industry.

Floral Council Chair Debora Coleman, vice president of floral for retailer Albertson’s Cos., announced the launch of the digital community before over 500 industry representatives who gathered to network and celebrate at the association’s Floral Flamingle Reception, held Oct. 19 at Fresh Summit.

“As the only produce and floral association that brings together all parts of the world and all parts of the produce and floral supply chains, PMA offers access to information and resources through its members, staff and volunteers,” said Coleman.

“The launch of our Focus on Floral: Industry Professionals community of interest on Facebook offers another way for our floral members to collaborate, connect and share ideas and insights. By interacting more frequently, PMA members can work together to move the industry forward and help achieve our collective goal to increase floral purchases among Americans.”

A total of 140 floral companies exhibited at PMA’s 2018 Fresh Summit, including 35 newcomers. Overall, the record-setting expo featured more than 1,200 exhibiting companies representing products and services across the fresh produce and floral supply chains displaying over 330,000-plus net square feet.
