ASCFG presents two-day intensive meeting

The Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers presents a meeting designed specifically for cut flower growers well established in their careers —those considering expansion or retirement, farm transition, and long-term planning —March 11-13 at Chateau LeMoyne in New Orleans, LA.

ASCFGThe two-day intensive meeting will be moderated by Lynn Byczynski, founding publisher of “Growing for Market,” a national periodical for market farmers, and author of the books “The Flower Farmer” and “Market Farming Success.”

Presenters will include Mark Cain, co-owner at Dripping Springs Farm in Huntsville, AR; Mimo and Miranda Davis-Duschack, owners at Urban Buds: City Grown Flowers in St. Louis, MO; Poppy Davis, research professor and director of entrepreneurship at the University of Arkansas School of Law and owner at C2C Consulting; and Alex Hitt, owner at Peregrine Farm in Graham, NC.

Topics covered over the two days will be succession, retirement and estate planning; deep sustainability; grant writing; transitioning to the next generation; training the next generation; and dealing with market saturation and competition.

There will also be study hall sessions, happy hours and an icebreaker reception.
