Kendall Farms awarded Best Booth at FPFC’s NorCal Expo in Pleasanton

The Fresh Produce & Floral Council’s Northern California Expo attracted about a thousand attendees and close to 200 exhibitors on March 29 to Pleasanton, CA.

“What makes this show unique is that you have everyone from VPs to senior category managers, down to produce and floral department employees,” said Carissa Mace, FPFC president, in a news release.

The colorful booth by Kendall Farms in Fallbrook, CA, was awarded the FPFC 2017 Best of Show in the Floral Category.

“When you put all the effort into it, you know it always feels great for your peers to acknowledge all the hard work you put into the booth,” Cathy McClintock, sales manager at Kendall Farms, told The Produce News.

The one-day, annual event offers the opportunity for buyers, sellers and store personnel to engage, do business, and network.

“It’s a busy show,” said McClintock. “We get to see a lot of our existing customers, plus new ones. People are always interested in what our recipes are going to be for the summer and fall. It’s also an opportunity for us to show our new ideas. We’d put succulents and orchids in our arrangements, which is something new for us, and that got a huge response. We also showed a few of our existing customers some things that are in the beta stage of development to get their feedback. In the past, I think Kendall Farms has been known more for our consumer bunches and our mason jars, but we’ve branched out and we are doing more higher-end bouquets and really keeping with the theme of different seasons. Plus, you get so see your competition and see what other people are doing out there. And the people who put on the show are great —very helpful.”
