The Produce Marketing Association’s Center for Growing Talent will host a Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference April 23-25 in Miami, and it is “developed specifically for women in the floral and produce industries, regardless of their career stage, with a mission to cultivate women’s potential,” according to a news release.
The program was designed by women for women and its emphasis is on effective leadership training developed through a gender lens. Since research shows more women in leadership positions fuel a company’s success, this conference helps businesses leverage that competitive advantage.
According to the Center for Growing Talent by PMA, the conference differs from other women’s conferences in that:
•It was developed from research with influential leaders, supervisors and potential participants within the floral and fresh produce industries.
•It was the first women’s conference offered to the floral and fresh produce industries that covers the entire supply chain and is offered to women along the entire career continuum.
•The curriculum is developed in partnership with both education institutions and business organizations, bringing both academic and real-world content to the sessions.
Participants can expect to return to their organizations as more empowered professionals after learning how to:
•Achieve business results through enhanced strategic skills.
•Utilize meaningful business relationships to enhance personal and professional performance.
•Strengthen leadership style to motivate, inspire and lead high-performing teams.
•Hone negotiation and communication skills to achieve effective outcomes.
•Gain actionable tools to enhance personal branding and drive value for their organizations.
