Three major flower-growing areas in California will host Town Hall Member Meetings next month by CalFlowers, the California Association of Flower Growers & Shippers (formerly NORCAL). Each of these regional meetings will focus on topics that affect those areas specifically, with additional emphasis placed on issues that concern the California floral industry as a whole, according to an association news release.
The regional member meetings represent CalFlowers’ efforts to reach out to its 578 members and are held in even-numbered years, alternating with the California Floral Convention/Fun ‘N Sun Weekend, which is held in odd-numbered years.
“It’s always a benefit to connect with members, to create and reinforce the network within the industry,” Michael LoBue, chief executive officer for CalFlowers in Capitola, CA, told The Produce News.
The daylong meetings will be held Aug. 19 at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa in Carlsbad (Southern California region), Aug. 21 at Fess Parker’s DoubleTree Resort in Santa Barbara (South Central region) and Aug. 26 at the Monterey Marriott in Monterey (North Central region).
Any member can attend any of the regional events, which run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in all three cities. There will also be a vendor reception for members at each meeting.
