Spice World will have full line of garlic and other specialty items on display

Spice World, headquartered in Orlando, FL, grows its domestic conventional and organic garlic in California. The company offers its diverse line of products — from fresh whole garlic bulbs, fresh peeled, ready-to-use minced and chopped along with its popular Squeeze Garlic — in both options.

“Our ongoing goal is to fill every consumer need in both categories,” said Louis Hymel, director of purchasing and marketing.

This year will mark the 10th year that Spice World has exhibited at the Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure Conference & Expo being held on March 9-11 in Orlando.

Hymel said the Southern Exposure offers companies like Spice World many benefits.

“The event draws a lot of people from out of town, and especially from other parts of the country,” he said.

“It gives professionals from northern areas an opportunity to enjoy sunny Florida at a time of year when their own regions are typically at their coldest.

“And Southern Exposure also provides Spice World with an opportunity to showcase our products in one place,” he continued. “In addition, Orlando is our headquarters and that gives many of our out of town customers an opportunity to visit our facility.”

Hymel added that Spice World representatives at the event also enjoy the extracurricular activities, such as the Opening Gala Party.

He pointed out that the garlic movement for the company is exactly where it should be this time of year.

“We’re currently selling our cold storage garlic from California, as well as imported cold storage garlic from Spain,” he said.

“We have also begun selling some Argentina garlic, but because of the high prices out of Argentina, supplies are limited.”
