RockTenn rolling out addition to Meta line of packaging machinery

RockTenn Automated Packaging Systems unveiled the newest addition to its Meta line of mandrel forming machines at the Association for Packaging & Processing Technologies trade show Sept. 23 in Las Vegas.

The new Meta LS utilizes mandrel forming technology to produce precision formed cases in a wide range of sizes and designs.

The precision formed case eliminates case skew found in erected RSCs and delivers additional stacking strength. Compared to case erectors, additional savings can be realized with the Meta LS through improved machine efficiency and box performance in the production line and distribution system.

“The RockTenn team is tenaciously focused on delivering industry-leading innovation in packaging solutions for our customers,” said John Eaton, corrugated packaging vice president of sales, marketing and APS. “This exciting technology brings new opportunities to reduce the total cost of packaging.”

RockTenn has an in-house machinery manufacturing and service division. RockTenn’s Automated Packaging Systems group is based in Orlando, FL, and designs and manufactures more than 80 custom and standard machines in a variety of markets, from produce to medical supplies.

RockTenn is one of North America’s leading integrated manufacturers of corrugated and consumer packaging and recycling solutions with more than 26,000 employees and locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Argentina.
