Marc Holbik, director of grower relations for Ecoripe Tropicals based in Medley, FL, will be joined by the company’s general manager, Isabel Hurtado, to greet visitors at the annual Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit Oct. 26-28 in Anaheim, CA.
“Also greeting visitors will be Ecoripe’s two new account executives: Mareny Perez and Wes Wever,” said Mr. Holbik. “Mareny is currently working toward a bachelor of arts degree in business administration at Miami Dade College, and she has over five years of experience in sales andcustomer service. She has been working for Ecoripe for over a year, and she has quickly embraced the challenges of working in the produce industry.”
During the past year, Mr. Wever has worked primarily as Ecoripe’s quality-assurance coordinator. His responsibilities include implementing the company’s food-safety program as well as developing product quality-control procedures.
“Wes’s diverse background includes degrees in culinary studies and business administration, working at his family farm in Guatemala and overseeing the management of his own restaurant,” said Mr. Holbik.
The company is very excited to introduce its rambutan in a one-pound clamshell at the PMA Fresh Summit, Mr. Holbik said, adding that the product is packed fresh from GlobalGAP-certified orchards, and is marketed under the “Lafinita” brand.
“The ‘Lafinita’ brand rambutan represents the best in quality and availability, with an extended production season from May to November,” he said. “The one-pound clamshell reduces shrink while providing a consumer-friendly pack, and the product is backed with full support for in-store demos.”
Ecoripe sources a full line of tropicals for the North American market.
Mr. Holbik added that the one-pound clamshell will be displayed in the New Product Showcase at the PMA Fresh Summit.
“At our booth (No. 1892) at the PMA Fresh Summit, Ecoripe Tropicals will be offering samples of our high-quality rambutan so visitors can experience the sweet juicy flavor of this exotic tree fruit,” said Mr. Holbik.
