Team and label move Progressive Produce forward

Progressive Produce recently announced several measures to help the company meet its expanding growth, including a new label and new additional staff.

Scott Leimkuhler, senior vice president of sales, explained, “With our new cold storage facility in La Mirada that opened last year, plus the new faces we’ve added to the asparagus and citrus team, we’re excited and confident in our growth with our partners.”

The company now offers a new Progressive Farms label. “The label will take our customers to growing regions around the world from Peru to Mexico to the U.S.,” said Oscar Guzman, director of marketing and sales. “We’re really excited about the Progressive Farms label, it’s our first brand we’ve designed using our industry trusted name. We hope when our customers see this brand, they feel confident and proud to display it. We’ve also refreshed our long-time organic label, Nature’s Bounty Organic, with a new simplified and sleek style to complement Progressive Farms and ensure that the consumers can clearly see its ‘Organic’.”

The company is also investing in its team, adding new faces to its family that either come from a produce background or have recently graduated college.

Cory Stahl, vice president of sales, and Don Hessel, long-time produce veteran, expressed excitement to have built a team fitting within the company’s core values and bringing diverse experiences and educational backgrounds.

"Everyone brings something different to the table, which helps us cover all angles of this versatile commodity," said Andy Webb, asparagus sales manager.

New team members at Progressive include Tyler Steele, a produce rookie, who graduated from Vanguard University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration in 2018; Sean Barganski, with four years in produce and a graduate of Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Government; Lauren Hessel with six years in Produce, who earned degrees from Grand View University (Bachelors of Arts) in Spanish and an MBA from Columbia Southern; Andy Webb, with nine years in produce, who graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Business; and Andrew Engles, boasting 15 years in produce and a graduate of St. Mary's College with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management.
