Jim Daly, vice president of Floralife global operations and corporate research, and Alan Tanouye, general manager of North American operations for Floralife, have recently been appointed to industry organizations, the Walterboro, SC, post-harvest products and technical services company announced in a press release.

Mr. Daly was appointed a trustee of the American Floral Endowment, an independent nonprofit organization that funds research and scholarships in floriculture and environmental horticulture. Mr. Tanouye was appointed a vice president of the board of the Wholesale Florist & Florist Supplier Association, created in 1926 to provide business opportunities to wholesale distributors and floral suppliers of growers, wholesalers, retailers and allied industry organizations.

Mr. Daly began working at Floralife 26 years ago as a college student with a part-time job as a lab technician.

Mr. Tanouye is originally from Hilo, HI, where his interest in flowers began when his father and brother started Green Point Nurseries Inc., a tropical flower farm. He earned a degree in business administration and a master’s degree in accounting at the University of Hawaii, and began working at Floralife three years ago. Mr. Tanouye is active in the Society of American Florists.
