More than 200 exhibitors are expected to have displays at the cavernous exhibit hall at Cemexpo exhibition center when the FlorEcuador show (Agriflor 2012) opens Oct. 3-6 in Quito, Ecuador, according to the organizer, HPP International in Amsterdam.
The list of exhibitors, updated in late August, totaled almost 200 firms and included a handful from the United States.
Things are likely to be different with buyers. At the last Florecuador, in 2010, U.S. firms were heavily represented with about 250 buyers out of a total of 613.
Cemexpo’s compound has a total area of 917,655 square feet, including exhibition area of 145,312 square feet. Facilities include a business center, offices for show organizers, press rooms, videoconference room, public relations department, technical and design department, VIP room, wired cables and optic fiber, digital registry for visitors, transportation services, call center, Internet and a telephone capacity for 800 lines.
The business-to-business, trade-only show will feature a competition among growers and breeders judged by an international jury of experts. Also, the show will offer half-day grower tours that will visit flower farms near Quito. The official opening will take place at noon Oct. 3.
The exhibit hall at the Cemexpo will be open daily from noon to 7 p.m. On the final day of the show, it will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A buyers and vendors international flower party will be held the evening of Oct. 6.
